A ritual is not the same thing as a routine. A morning routine might involve, showering, getting dressed, having breakfast or reading mails. Because we’ve done it so many times before, we know what to do and in what order without having to do much thinking. A ritual may involve these things but the the focus is on the process of the task or an appreciation of its side benefit. With a ritual you have the added value of feeling energized, focused, grounded, clear headed or some other additional benefit. Some common morning rituals are for example meditation, exercise or a morning run.

I found my perfect morning routine a couple years ago. The first thing I am doing every morning is preparing myself a cup of green tea to have some #QualiTeaTime. Currently I am enjoying the new Lipton Tea „Beauty Time“ composed of green tea lemon grass, hibiscus, pomegranate and vitamin C! Hibiscus and pomegranate are adding a fruity taste to a common green tea, which is really good!

  • Doesn’t kick in as quick as coffee, lasts longer though!
  • Improves your brain function.
  • Burns calories.
  • Anti oxidants in green tea may lower your risk of cancer.
  • Good for your teeth.
  • It reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
  • Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging.

Often I add a little Matcha powder to my green tea or even a bit of soy milk. Sounds weird, but you have to try it, its really good!

After having my tea prepared I love to find myself a cozy spot and try to get my head clear. The best thing to do that is to do a little meditation. You don’t have to meditate for hours! Even if you are doing a 10 min mindfulness training everyday for a couple of weeks you will experience a difference. There is an app called ‚Headspace‘ which I can highly recommend! It starts with a 10 day ‚course‘ of 10 minutes mindfulness training everyday. The guy who guides you through the course doesn’t only guide you through your meditation, but also explains exactly why you are doing this and why it is good for you! Since it only takes 10 minutes, its worth a try, isn’t it? (:
